Advertising Outlook

Incorporating conventional advertising on the Internet will not work. Traditional ad campaigns do not transfer over to this medium.  How can a major television ad compare to a 10 second pop-up? This is to say that traditional advertising is not working. People are sick and tired of the same bombardment of advertising promotion on all mediums but especially a medium that is supposed to be content driven and free. "Internet advertising could fall by 5% in the first quarter of 2009, the first contraction in online ad spending since the dot-com bubble burst in 2001, market research group IDC " (article 2). Research has drawn a few conclusions, one of them being that consumers do not want, need or trust online advertising.  Studies have shown that advertising and company sponsored sites are the least valued method, whereas recommendations and reviews are the highest (Chart 1). Recordapedia.com is trying to use its influence and members to get your products seen by the right consumer.  In all mediums, advertising has been a deterrent for the consumers real agenda:  to view or read with limited interruptions. Data has shown that most people on the Internet get their advise from third-party professionals (Eric Clemson).  As technology changes, the advertising model will need to do the same.

blog trust

The goal is to reach the customer base your company needs to thrive.  The foundation of our platform is the tutorials and third-party blogs that show your products in use.  The interactive feel to the site engages the viewer to learn more about all related product information and lays it at their fingertips.

Difference of profit lift between viral and direct marketing

Not only do we want to provide as much information as possible on recording topics, but we strive to diversify the way the content is conveyed.  Since we all learn and retain information in different ways, we have made it our duty to provide information in every outlet, i.e. print based articles, podcasts, videos, and blogs.

How does information (product updates, upcoming events) reach the public through our social networks, both internal and external?  The internal network, which consists of Recordapedia.com members, and the external networks, Facebook, Myspace and Twitter, are connected through RSS feeds that get updated every hour.  Since our launch two months ago, a steadily growing 8,000 members have joined up.  We are able to create very precise product placement campaigns to people that are interested in your specific or related products. The information on the website gives the consumer the validation needed to make informed decisions on products and concepts.  We are in the process of creating a mobile application and a text messaging outlet.  As the world gets more mobile, so should your product placement.

Concept behind Social networks and third party involvement

The members in the social networks recommend and bring awareness to products, that has been validated by third-party usages and recommendations. Tutorials and blogs are the bases of the third party intervention within the the social networks. The tutorial and blogs generate the awareness that intern creates positive messages of products and services due to the members experiences.  As the members start influencing each other on products and services within the network, they in turn validate and become a third party promotional force, creating a direct message to the consumer.
